DIRECT REPORTING: Sr. Dir, Operations



Position Summary

The Supervisor, Manufacturing plans, coordinates and exercises functional authority over all activities within the Fabrication shop. Requires previous experience exposed to all facets of fabrication shop activity, preferably in a custom-steel fabrication environment, including experience planning and directing the work of others. Oversees administration of resources allocated to department activities; controls expenditures within limitations of project budgets. Maintains communications with all company departments to exchange information and to ensure coordination of efforts and expedient completion of projects. Responsible for the safety of all employees under his/her supervision. Previous experience with ASME certified products required.


Principal Activities

  • Assigns, coordinates and supervises all job assignments and activities within the Fabrication shop to ensure efficiency in project completion; conducts performance evaluations, salary reviews and other tasks relating to department employees.
  • Coordinates flow of work through Fabrication shop and with other company departments to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects.
  • Initiates and reviews requisitions and purchases consumable supplies for Fabrication shop use as necessary; reviews and approves all other department requisitions, invoices, expense reports, etc.
  • Maintains records such as time sheets, employee evaluations, accident reports, and all EH&S activities, etc.
  • Works to remedy problems occurring in Fabrication shop activities such as production errors, drawing errors and changes, insufficient supplies, etc. Confers with Shipping on the receipt of material and supplies; schedules delivery times for outgoing projects.
  • Participates in FMEA, drawing revision reviews, and post mortem reviews
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Able to read manufacturing assembly drawings
  • Technical aptitude to resolve issues with assembly and installation
  • Able to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Safety conscious, with knowledge of capturing near misses, incidents, and forward thinking to resolve issues or concerns before they become a safety problem
  • SolidWorks or similar system knowledge and experience preferred


Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates’ degree preferred, with 7-10 years’ assembly experience, preferably in Oil & Gas or similar industry, with 2-3 years’ supervisory experience preferred and able to manage budgets, finance, and regulatory requirements.
