Job Description








Position Summary

The primary purpose of this summer internship is to provide professional and competent engineering support to the individual Value Stream model lines. Assist department personnel with assembly work instructions, assembly tooling improvements, and improving the assembly cycle time reduction. Areas of work exposure will focus around the use of valve assembly workstations and LEAN manufacturing setup reduction practices.

 Principal Activities

  • Ensures the availability of valve assembly work instructions
  • Develop tooling assembly tools and fixtures as required
  • Participate in assembly cell setup reduction events
  • Assist with standardization of assembly practices to reduce waste
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance with emphasis on analytical methods to meet production and quality goals

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Enrollment at the Junior/Senior level of a college/university degree program majoring in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or Sciences field of Study.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical problem solving skills and strong attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and must be willing to roll up your sleeves and work hard in shop.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Access, SolidWorks, and Gibbs CAM or similar CAM software.
  • US Citizenship required, must be at least 18 years of age.
