Position Summary

 Principal Activities


  • Overall responsibilities of Supplier Management process that includes but not limited to – Supplier Assessment and selection, Supplier Performance Management and Supplier Risk management
  • Interface with suppliers and customers on all supplier quality and delivery related issues and activities
  • Drive supplier process capability improvements through variation reduction, error-proofing, and implementation of statistical process control
  • Provide leadership on problem solving teams to drive root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with processes, specifically supply chain processes
  • Support New Product Introduction from a Design for quality and supplier capability perspective
  • Review customer Source Control Drawings, Specifications, and Quality requirements
  • Manage major program manufacturing process qualification
  • Manage Supplier Quality Engineers and the overall Supplier Management Process
  • Validate and respond to Corrective Action Requests (CARs) from both internal and external customers
  • Participate on Material Review Board (MRB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes
  • Develop process flow charts/diagrams and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Conduct and participate in the internal and external quality system, process, and product audits
  • Provide technical leadership to inspection team members
  • Develops and establishes problem/process root cause and definitive corrective action plans necessary to reduce Scrap, Rework and Repair costs.
  • Develops product quality plans and inspection methodologies

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in aerospace quality and manufacturing including a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with various raw materials and manufacturing and quality inspection processes (machining, heat treating, anodizing, painting, NDT, etc.)
  • Experience with machining or flight critical components/systems is a plus
  • Understanding of requirements related to RoHS, WEEE, REACH, ITAR, DFAR, PED etc.
  • Knowledge of requirements related to FOD program, counterfeit parts and ESD program
  • Strong business/technical writing, presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of problem solving tools: 5-Whys, Failure mode and effects analysis, 8-D, Pareto analysis, fault tree analysis, and Ishikawa diagrams
  • Understanding of Aerospace Quality Management Systems: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9110 and Nadcap requirements. Lead or Internal Auditor training in one or more of these systems is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement statistically valid control plans and audit plans
  • Working knowledge of inspection metrology and proper application of automated measuring equipment
  • Ability to create and/or review failure analysis reports and perform dimensional tolerance stack up analyses
  • Strong Project Management experience to effectively manage large complex projects
  • Strong Analytical skills for determining trends/root causes and for report generations
  • Good systemic, data driven problem solver
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate up and down the organization 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
