Aerodyne Controls/CIRCOR Aerospace, Inc., manufactures and supplies engineered critical control components and sub-systems based on customer requirements to the aerospace and medical equipment markets. A new lean manufacturing facility, features a class 10K clean room for flight critical pressure regulators, model line cells for pneumatic weapons release systems, centrifuge production line for blood separation technologies, and an additional production area for kinetic switch components and modules.

  • Pneumatic Pinch ValvesMAJOR INDUSTRIES SERVED•   Aerospace Military and Commercial •   Medical Position SummaryREPORTING STRUCTURE AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS   The Sales Manager interfaces with various internal/external business partners to identify and lead the new business capture process.
  • The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense products in a defined territory and managing customer relationships utilizing a consultative sales approach driving new business building customer loyalty and trust.   This role will be responsible for defining sales and business development strategies and securing new design wins. Duties include determination of market trends, demand forecasting, management of business capture targeting and closure, proposal and contract negotiation, and market strategy.
  • Reports To:  Director, Business Development
  • Direct Reports:  None
  • Key Internal Partners:  Inside Sales, Engineering, Contracts, Product Management, Finance.
  • Key Internal Business Processes: Territory planning, Account planning, Opportunity planning, Forecasting, New Opportunity Presentation
  • Customers:  The Regional Sales Manager is the point of contact for customers as well as Product Managers across the business for new and existing products.  Customers and markets include aerospace commercial and defense, OEM’s, aftermarket aerospace distributors, and government entities.


Principal Activities



  • Making field sales calls on existing and prospective customers in assigned territory or customers developing capture strategy.
  • Identify and qualify new and strategic opportunities
  • Understand and navigate customers buying process and budget
  • Territory and account planning, forecasting, and complex proposal generation
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of customer programs, requirements, and organization.
  • Meet or exceed annual booking goals set for respective territory. Seek design-in opportunities.
  • Increase new business by working with customers’ engineering and purchasing staff to have CIRCRO Aerospace & Defense products and capabilities baselined into product specifications
  • Establish/manage contacts at military program offices across the country including Eglin AFB, China Lake, Hill AFB, Redstone Arsenal, Wright Patt. AFB, Navair/Navsea etc.
  • Follow up and respond to technical and price quotations via Request for Information and Request for Proposal
  • Develop and implement strategies that successfully target potential customers and capture additional market share from competitors.
  • Identifying target accounts in which to promote new business and maintain customer contact reports for service and follow-up.
  • Establish and maintain territorial sales forecasts and maintenance of customer profile reports
  • Develop, build, and manage customer relationships
  • Identify customer requirements, market trends, competitive landscape, and deliver new product development opportunities to CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense.
  • Prepare and present detailed customer presentations
  • Support various trade shows and exhibitions
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.


Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree in Engineering (preferable) Business, Management, Sales, and Marketing or other related areas.  MBA a plus

Experience:  5-8 years of progressive sales, product, project and/or program management experience in Aerospace, Defense or related market space.  Lean or six sigma experience a plus

  • Proven track record in technical sales in aerospace market (at least 3-5 years desirable)
  • Strong account management skills including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple business development efforts
  • Solid analytical skills and problem solving solution-driven thinking
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels at customers and internally
  • Financial acumen, effective selling, and industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of and experience working with customer and industry-specific requirements/standards across the product life cycle
  • Applied experience working with mechanical valves, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and other products central to the CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense business.
  • Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other applicable tools
