Position Summary

The Sr. Project Manager, Construction will be responsible for all phases of a construction project associated with the installation of DeltaValve coke drum unheading equipment and related ancillaries in oil & gas refineries. Organizes and implements project plans. Communicates directly with contractors concerning project cost, safety and scheduling. Coordinates preparation of project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications. Requires a bachelor’s degree of engineering with 15+ years of experience in oil & gas refining project management activities. Reports to Director of Installation Services. Typically manages through direct or functional subordinate managers and professionals depending on project load and complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Provides input into developing the project scope, budget and schedule. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from routine activities and requiring coordination or mediation.


Principal Activities

  • Responsible for the performance of all construction activities associated with the installation of DeltaValve equipment in refineries, primarily in the oil & gas industries, in accordance with contract requirements and internals as well as customer policies and procedures.
  • Creates and administers a method of change management that captures all commercial, administrative, technical and safety requirements of Circor, its customers and contractors.
  • May be required to participate in complex program management tasks and in the development or update of corporate standards or processes associated with technical, administrative or execution related activities of installation projects.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across mediums, audiences, and situations.
  • Experience projecting, monitoring, and managing resources.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with customer and oil & gas industry-specific requirements and standards across the product life cycle.
  • Applied experience working with mechanical valves, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and other products central to the CIRCOR Aerospace Inc business.
  • Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, and other applicable tools.
  • Because the Project Manager does not have line authority over other functional areas, success in achieving individual performance goals is largely driven by his/her product knowledge, business partnering skills, and overall ability to influence others.
  • Expected to perform job responsibilities in compliance with all operating policies and procedures, while focusing on teamwork and communication in an environment based on Circor’s Value Statements and centered in a culture of Safety, Ethics and Controls.
  • Able to make decisions or suggestions based on rules or procedures but expected to use independent judgement to accommodate deviations or modifications.

  • Receives minimal direction or supervision. 

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in mechanical or related field preferred.

Preferred Certifications or Specializations:

PMP, Sig Sigma, Delayed Coking

Expected Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree of engineering with 15+ years of experience in oil & gas project management activities, particularly involving capital construction and maintenance projects in refineries, or equivalent combined education and experience. Delayed coker experience preferred.
