Position Summary

The Quality Manager will manage and coordinate the quality department while focusing in the areas of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, safety, environment, quality and costs. The Quality Manager will also drive quality assurance systems to ensure the specifications of the delivered product are met; act as a liaison in career development planning of staff members; and maintain close relationship with technical service, sales, customers to insure process improvements are in place for improving the product and process. Lead the quality assurance effort for CIRCOR to meet demanding customer requirements and deliver operating profit to the corporation. This person will be working with a team of highly skilled engineers and operations management personnel, this team will guide our company and contract partners to the “best practice” manufacturing methods. With leadership this function will lead team members to a long term quality assurance vision, embrace new product introductions, formalized policies/procedures, and establish performance metrics. Participate in product change control activities, work with customers on complaints and return authorizations, ensure that statistical control is maintained, and apply six sigma tools/techniques.

Principal Activities

  • Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS, including the need for improvement.
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings.
  • Working manager, responsible for leading a team of Quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians
  • Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
  • Oversee inspection of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization
  • Periodically report the tracking of quality standards to actual and cost of quality
  • Lead on advanced quality planning to support development and launch of new products
  • Integrate Quality Maintenance into the overall approach of quality improvement, process control, claims elimination and defect waste elimination through WCM methodology
  • Provide and maintain technical contact among the sales and technical personnel and raw material suppliers
  • Ensure that quality problems are promptly and accurately reported to production personnel and system are in place to remedy root causes
  • Manage team that investigates customer complaints, liaison with sales representatives and with customers to ensure a satisfactory outcome
  • Subject matter expert (SME) for root cause problem solving methodologies, personally leading efforts to resolve largest and most complex problems
  • Ensure effective communication of the Company’s quality policy to all personnel
  • Evaluate corrective and preventive actions for any non-compliance to the Quality System;
  • Represent the Company as the Quality Representative with visiting accredited authorities and customers
  • Manages and coordinates quality assurance activities while adhering to all policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct capability assessments, quality planning, system audits and statistical analysis to track and continually improve quality at every process step.
  • Establish quality measurement criteria and visible monitoring systems that involve all employees in continuous improvement. 
  • Oversee quality control systems designed to isolate defective parts and work with those responsible to prevent reoccurrence.

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Quality/Manufacturing/Process Improvement experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Preference will be given to those possessing an ASQC or equivalent quality management certification
  • High familiarity with machining and assembly.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2000 or equivalent systems


  • BS Degree in Engineering, Quality or related degree
  • 5 years related business experience
