DIRECT REPORTING: Reports to Operations Support Services Manager

FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Reports to North America Operations & Services Dept.



Position Summary

CIRCOR Reliability Services is looking for an EH&S Manager to support North America (USA & Canada) operations. The EH&S Manager is a strong individual contributor role that will have primary EHS  responsibilities and may be assigned additional site responsibilities for other CIRCOR Reliability Services locations across North America. This position will ensure all required environmental, health and safety activities are accomplished as required by regulatory or policy requirements.

The successful candidate will manage all safety and environmental needs in a multi-locations organization, working with mobile and embedded work teams. Focus areas will include chemical storage, chemical transportation, management of marine and industrial items, OSHA/EPA compliance and training, behavior based safety program, incident & claim management in addition to the development and maintenance of safe-work practices, management of customer safety websites, internal and external safety audits, and establishing customer relationships. The EHS Manager will be responsible to identify opportunities to grow the EHS role and incorporate EHS aspects into all areas of the business. 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Safety and Environmental Leader:

  • Serve as the chair of the business’s Safety Leadership Group
  • Lead collaborative efforts to develop and implement environmental, health and safety procedures and programs to improve health and safety culture, reduce injuries and liability, and ensure regulatory compliance at all levels of business, including locally and remote locations.
  • Take a leadership role in providing input, ideas and knowledge in further developing the safety program of the overall company and promote a safe work environment by providing safety leadership and encourage participation and ownership of safety at all job levels.
  • Provide guidance on hazardous waste management, chemical management and chemical handling
  • Represent the company in community and/or industry safety groups and programs.

Training and Development:

  • Develop and grow company EHS culture through leadership training and guidance.
  • Schedule and facilitate health and safety training.
  • Responsible to maintain and update Health & Safety Manual, employee training records and safety, training, and insurance records for third party online databases.

 Field Services Support:

  • Provide ongoing day-to-day health and safety support and guidance to service personnel to maintain compliance with company and customer policy and state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct or coordinate jobsite safety inspections. Inspect work sites to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and require correction.
  • Investigate safety incidents. Determine corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure necessary measures have been implemented.
  • Actively support the claims management and return to work activities.
  • Accountable for acceptable TRIR rating which allows organization to execute in multiple industries.
  • Establish structured reporting and robust accountability programs.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance to applicable rules and regulations (OSHA/EPA/DOT)
  • Minimal travel to job sites.

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Direct knowledge and experience with Cal-OSHA, SCAQMD, and other California Environmental Regulations. (Minimum 3 years of experience working in California)
  • Must have experience developing, implementing and managing EH&S plans and programs.
  • Must have manufacturing experience with a strong working knowledge of electrical safety / LOTO, machine guarding, mechanical ventilation, high pressure testing, and ergonomics.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to drive organizational change.
  • Ability to interface with employees and management in an effective and professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. An ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of employees, leadership, consultants, and regulatory entities.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking methods: define problems, collect and interpret relevant data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement countermeasures.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and/or customers.
  • Ability to research, prepare, and format training and other written communications to effectively present information to employees, senior leadership, public groups, or regulatory agencies.
  • Hands on with a sense of urgency, ability to manage under pressure and manage multiple priorities and projects. Attention to detail is essential in addition to multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to self-start and follow through on tasks.
  • Change agent with the ability to work with peers to drive change
  • Experience with Contractor Pre-qualification Programs, including PICS, PEC Premier, and ISNetworld is preferred, but not required.

 Education & Experience

  • Minimum 6-9 years of environmental, health and safety management experience. This position is approximately 75% safety and 25% environmental.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, EHS or business related field with advanced academic and professional training preferred.
