ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

BUSINESS: Pipeline Engineering

LOCATION: Houston, TX

DIRECT REPORTING: Project Manager, Houston, TX

FUNCTIONAL REPORTING:

POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

You are to report directly to Departmental Supervisor (Project Supervisor) in relation to your normal duties.

However, if required you have direct access to the Production Manager, UK, Gary Davidson and the HR Department for all personnel matters and pay related matters and directly to the Managing Director if you feel that all other avenues have been exhausted or confidentiality make them inappropriate.

Principal Activities

To perform fitting, assembly and testing of machined components.

 

Fitter: 

  • Assemble and fit    
  • Manual Machining
  • Perform other general duties where reasonably practicable.
  • Sign-off work as required, following the completion of pre-delivery quality checks.
  • Daily reporting of work completed with accurate account of hours & order / job numbers.

Hydro-testing: 

  • Hydrotesting (vessels, pipework, plugs and other associated fittings).
  • Evaluating the need for risk assessments and conducting risk assessments where appropriate.

In all of your duties you will

  • Liaise with Business Unit Management Team to agree ongoing priorities.
  • Liaise with other departments in the Company in relation to assigned work.
  • Maximise output against cost.
  • Maximise machine utilisation and efficiency.
  • Run multiple machines where safe & reasonably practicable.
  • Participate as required in internal and external quality audits, and third party inspections.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activity.
  • Ensure that EHS guidelines & procedures are followed in your work area by all employees and visitors.
  • Adherence to Company Quality Procedures, Standards & product specifications.
  • Housekeeping of your work environment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and checks on equipment as instructed.
  • Assist in achieving departmental targets (as defined in Departmental Key Process Indicators).
  • Support the training of others.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and roles and responsibilities set out in the EHS Manuals.

Job Requirements

 Essentials

  • Experience of operating metal removal machines.
  • Experience of operating metal removal machines.
  • Experience of fitting and assembly operations.
  • The ability to read & interpret engineering drawings.
  • CNC programming experience.
  • A desire to become an integral part of the Pipeline Engineering Team.


Desirable

  • Formal machining qualifications.
  • FLT licence
  • CAM programming experience.

Education & Experience

  • Experience of the following equipment and materials used:
  • Etching machine.
  • Hand tools.
  • CAM software.
  • Hydro-testing machines and data analysis.
  • Conventional & CNC metal cutting machines.
  • EOT cranes & lifting equipment.
