Position Summary

The Product Shop/Field Valve Technician serves multiple roles in the manufacture, installation and aftermarket support of a critical service hydraulic/electrically driven gate valve system in petrochemical refinery service.  Responsible for shop fabrication and site support to including shop build of new and teardown/reassembly of refurbished valves, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance turnaround support. 


Principal Activities

  • Maintain safe work environment and promote safe work practices amongst coworkers, peers, and customers
  • Assist with assembly of new engineered valves and supporting equipment, to include new construction
  • Maintain and refurbish valves and valve systems in shop and field environments
  • Ensure all materials for project execution as provided by seller are available and in proper condition
  • Oversee client installation efforts and provide technical assistance
  • Confirm system has been installed properly onsite and is ready for site acceptance test
  • Generate punch list of action items and ensures action items are completed
  • Participate in SAT activities to assure owner of proper operation
  • Responsible for onsite documentation including JSA, time sheets, work permits, etc.
  • Maintain daily field service journal evidencing progress
  • Assure that all work activities performed on assigned projects are timely, accurate, high in quality and cost effective

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to understand, communicate, and adhere to CICOR safety and ethics policies
  • Ability and willingness to accept direction in fulfilling assigned tasks
  • Understand the application of, and possess the ability to manipulate basic hand and power tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to handle shop equipment, bridge cranes, fork truck, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of valves, controls, and hydraulics
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Requires the ability to obtain a valid passport and TWIC
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office suite)


Education and Experience

  • Three to five years job shop or valve manufacture experience
  • Refinery turnaround and construction experience a plus
