Position Summary

Reliability Services is looking for a Field Service Lubrication Technician to support an embedded account in the Port Arthur, Texas area. The successful candidate will have the capability to support a variety of lubrication service offerings and participate in a continuous improvement culture using tools to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost excellence with the goal of proving value generation for the customer.

 Principal Activities

  • Responsible for lubrication sampling on rotating equipment
  • Performs diagnostic collection to include lubricant collection and vibration collection
  • Responsible for lube sample laboratory analysis, results synthesis and where appropriate maintenance recommendations
  • Operate lubrication laboratory equipment which may include RULER oxidation analysis and Trivector oil analyzers
  • Responsible for rotating equipment preventive maintenance: may include filter exchanges, oil mist and greasing system maintenance
  • Assist in tier-1 unit lubrication program assessments
  • Conduct work safely by attending daily safety and production meetings and following site safety requirements including PPE, JHA/JSA, Lock Out/ Tag Out, Work Permitting, and Near Miss Unsafe Condition reporting
  • Responsible to submit completed paperwork in a timely manner
  • Support lean initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Operate oil transfer pumps and filtration equipment
  • Record gauge and LCD read out values
  • Route pipe as directed by lead personnel and bend tubing to equipment
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and perform basic maintenance and repairs
  • Operate electric dolly to load and unload oil or other materials from machines
  • Perform other necessary job-related duties or responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment on the job site

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Machine Lubricant Analysts Training (MLA)
  • Certificate or Technical Training in Instrumentation, Electronics, knowledge a plus
  • Oil laboratory analysis experience (mini-lab is sufficient). RULER and Trivector Oil Analyzer experience a plus
  • 2 years’ experience as a plant technician in a related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required with a good driving record, CDL a plus
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Products
  • Basic mechanical ability – use of hand tools, safety equipment and company equipment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Physically submit to periodic drug, background and clearance screenings

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
