Job Description


The role will be responsible for defining and executing strategies for growing revenue and profitability for the Power & Industry vertical market. The position will work in close cooperation with regional Sales especially in:

  • Understanding and communicating the challenges faced by their portfolio of customers and how CIRCOR can grow by offering solutions to their challenges.
  • Defining areas of focus and how to win strategy in segment
  • Profiling competitors, competitive alternatives favored by customers, and how CIRCOR can best position its solutions and offerings.
  • Identifying New Product Development opportunities and building associated business cases in conjunction with Product Management. Developing and leading action plans to grow the segment

The marketing mix of product (in partnership with Product Management and Engineering), price, promotion, and place (distribution strategies in partnership with Aftermarket).


Immediate Performance Objectives

  • Grow YOY new product revenue and sales funnel in 3-Screw
  • Achieve VA/VE 3-screw executed savings in 2017 and calendarized in 2018

The Big-Picture/Strategic Deliverables

  • Advance Power & Industry growth strategy per Strategic Plan into execution to achieve or exceed targeted growth

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide the vision and strategy for this vertical market and how to position CIRCOR in a changing market environment.
  • Map CIRCOR offering against specific competitors.
  • Make realistic assessment of our current position – identify advantages/disadvantages.
  • Create new sales tools for detailed long term cost of ownership sales pitch – monetized benefits vs. specific competitor offerings. Strengthen specific product messaging on existing points of differentiation.
  • Generate theories for differentiation, for VOC through customer interaction and input from sales and external sources. Investigate, vet and then champion.
  • Develop product offering to blunt competition.

Job Requirements


Language Capabilities

  • English (fluent, written and spoken).
  • German (valued).

Education Requirements

  • BS (Mechanical Engineering preferred) due to the technical nature of our offerings.
  • MBA with emphasis in Marketing valued to prove knowledge in Voice of Customer, Value Selling, Pricing, or Market Analyses.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Power & Industry markets and customers as this will be the primary focus.
  • Familiarity with fluid handling products or systems for Power & Industry.

Experience Requirements

  • Product management or highly consultative technical role in Power or Industry markets.
  • Project management in B-2-B business.
  • Management consulting with exposure to Power or Industry markets.

Mobility & Travel Requirements

  • This position will require 10-30% travel time across all geographies (primarily Europe and North America).
