    Position Summary

    CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense is searching for a Director, Finance Warren / Portland Valves to join its team. Key areas include: cost accounting, variance analysis, administrator of our purchase card program, analyzing travel expenses, assistance with tax packages, compilation of financial information for journal entries and account reconciliations, participates in initiatives to increase the efficiency of the department and assistance in completion of special projects.

    Principal Activities

    Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • Serves as a business partner with Operations to support business plan and provide financial guidance.
    • Provide analysis of manufacturing statistical data to understand, explain, and improve the performance of the manufacturing plant.
    • Analyze month end and month to date financial and statistical data to understand the drivers for variances from budget/forecast/prior year and develop improvement plans with operations.
    • Coordinate monthly/quarterly forecasts for the manufacturing plant. Assist in the analysis and understand the impact of cost rolls on product cost and provide reports or data to assist in comparing standard cost to actual production cost.
    • Maintain procedures and controls to monitor financial performance and safeguard the company assets.
    • Support process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy of financials.
    • Liaison with division/corporate accounting, internal and external auditors as required.
    • Ensure GAAP is followed consistently.
    • Ensure compliance with SOX and participate in implementation of additional controls.
    • Assist in the preparation of the month end reporting package to senior management.
    • Assist in ad hoc requests as required.

Job Requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualifications:  

  • Progressively increasing responsibility in accounting roles with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Successfully perform duties with a minimum of direction or guidance; must be self-directed.
  • Experience with multi-site, inter-company and multi-currency transactions.
  • US Citizenship is required for DOD requirements.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Desired qualifications:  

  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred
  • Experience working with a government contractor
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and initiate process improvements in accounting and reporting systems.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
  • Leadership experience in continuous improvement in accounting and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Management accounting in “lean manufacturing” operations.
  • Strong ERP experience

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
