Job Description

Position Summary

CIRCOR Aerospace is searching for a Cost Manager to join its Corona team. Key areas include: cost accounting, variance analysis, analyzing travel expenses, compilation of financial information for journal entries and account reconciliations, participates in initiatives to increase the efficiency of the department and assistance in completion of special projects.

 

Principal Activities

  • Serves as a business partner with Operations to support business plan and provide financial guidance.
  • Serves as a business partner with operations in support of Manufacturing Productivity, Working Capital Productivity (Inventory and Accounts Payable), Costing accuracy, Inventory and Reserve Management and Analysis, New Programs
  • Provide analysis of manufacturing statistical data in order to understand, explain, and improve the performance of the manufacturing plant.
  • Analyze month end and month to date financial and statistical data to understand the drivers for variances from budget/forecast/prior year and develop improvement plans with operations.
  • Coordinate monthly/quarterly forecasts for the manufacturing plant.  Assist in the analysis and understand the impact of cost rolls on product cost and provide reports or data to assist in comparing standard cost to actual production cost. 
  • Maintain procedures and controls to monitor financial performance and safeguard the company assets.
  • Support process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy of financials.
  • Liaison with division/corporate accounting, internal and external auditors as required. 
  • Ensure GAAP is followed consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and participate in implementation of additional controls.

Support in the preparation of the month end reporting package to senior management.

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Successfully perform duties with a minimum of direction or guidance; must be self-directed.
  • Seven to ten years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred.
  • One to three years supervisory experience leading teams directly as a supervisor or on an indirectly as a project leader.
  • Experience with JDE and/or IFS preferred.
