POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

Reporting to the U.S. based Benefits Manager, the Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all U.S. and global benefits and retirement programs including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) and pension.

Principal Activities

  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs including U.S. medical, dental, and vision plans, life, STD, and LTD insurance, retirement plans, retiree life and medical coverage, COBRA, and wellness.
  • Manage, reconcile and process monthly benefits invoices to ensure timely payment.
  • Respond to employee benefits-related questions and requests; monitor the U.S. Benefits Inbox.
  • Manage and administer the U.S. domestic and international relocation policies.
  • Coordinate Global benefits renewals throughout the year.
  • Design and distribute easy-to-understand, user-friendly benefits communication and materials.
  • Coordinate annual U.S. benefits open enrollment; work with external plan vendors, help prepare and review communication materials, oversee benefits and wellness fairs; audit employee elections and trouble shoot issues.
  • Partner with global benefits broker on the implementation of benefits plans including: setup, testing, compliance and communications.
  • Work closely with the Benefits Manager on strategic benefits initiatives.
  • Provide support to the Benefits Committee as needed.
  • Undertake projects related to the benefits and wellness programs as needed.

Job Requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of U.S. benefits programs and laws.
  • Experience with global benefit plans.
  • Experience working with HR information systems to administer benefits.
  • Ability to prepare and present benefits information to employees.
  • Experience auditing or reconciling benefits data.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • High level of ownership, follow through, and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and proactively partner with colleagues in HRIS, Finance, Payroll and field HR.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2 - 3 Years Employee Benefits HR experience
  • Experience with UltiPro or a similar HR Information System
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
