Position Summary

The Sales and Business Development Manager, India is responsible for internal and external sales for all CIRCOR Industrial Valves. This position will report to President and focus on growing our industrial valves business in India and east for east.

The Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for new business development and account management of existing customers in India through selling the CIRCOR portfolio and meeting/exceeding annual booking targets.  This role will be primarily responsible for developing new business opportunities, securing design wins, and supporting sales and business development strategies. Duties include understanding and communication of market trends, demand forecasting, management of business capture targeting, proposal generation, contract negotiation, and closure to contract award. 

Principal Activities

  • Understand CIRCOR’s products and develop product/market strategies to fuel CIRCOR’s growth in the Indian market.
  • Work closely with Group marketing leaders and Business Unit sales/marketing leaders on the growth strategies and action plans (including brand and pricing strategies).
  • Build market intelligence for CIRCOR’s products in India. Provide CIRCOR’s leadership with market intelligence to decide on how to invest and grow profitably in India.
  • Build a strong field sales team to execute the growth strategies and action plans.
  • Develop and manage channel partners to maximize reach in the Indian market.
  • Develop robust processes to manage the sales and marketing function. Continually improve the processes to meet changing business needs. Develop a culture of continuous improvement in the sales and marketing function.
  • Stay close to customers and build strong relationships. Understand customer needs and provide components, solutions and services to meet their needs.
  • Lead the collection efforts to minimize DSO.
  • Work closely with the planning, finance and manufacturing to provide short to medium term forecasts within a robust SIOP process.
  • Develop and implement a strong marketing communication plan. Effectively utilize tools such as trade shows, magazines and others to build CIRCOR’s brand image in India.
  • Be a strong ambassador for CIRCOR among customers, competitors and the industry.
  • Participate in the strategic planning process for the India business.
  • Play a key role in the annual budget process and manage resources to meet the budget commitments.
  • Manage all statutory requirements related to sales and marketing
  • Build CIRCOR’s culture in the organization and establish strong ethical work practices.

Job Requirements


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • The candidate must have 5 to 7 years of experience in the Industrial Valves / steam conditioning equipment/product market in India or the Region.
  • Should have the commitment and energy to meet booking & sales forecast.
  • Strong understanding of the operating conditions and the statutory framework in India.
  • Ability to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies.
  • Qualified Candidate must have a proven track record of developing new customers, growing sales profitably, forecasting and managing budgets.
  • Must have experience establishing and managing a sales channel selling to diverse markets.
  • Qualified Candidate must have the personality to build relationships with decision makers at key customers and a proven track record of selling to executives within the defined markets
  • Qualified Candidate must have experience in creating and sustaining strong profitability and business results within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with global and diverse audiences.
  • Must possess strong negotiating skills.
  • Must have skills in consultative selling securing business through marketing value of engineered solutions.
  • Experience projecting, monitoring and managing resources.
  • Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel seventy five percent (75%) within India and occasionally outside India.

 Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree in an applicable field and no previous related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
