Project Manager

BUSINESS: Pipeline Engineering

LOCATION: Catterick, North Yorkshire

DIRECT REPORTING: Senior Project Manager

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be to plan, control and finalise projects in strict accordance with the required quality standards, timescales and budgets. This includes being the contact with client representatives, along with acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-parties to finish projects according to plan.

Project Management

  • Create project schedules, to meet changing project needs. Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities / organise resources to meet the schedule.
  • Manage daily operational aspects of projects.
  • Review deliverables prepared by the project team before issuing.
  • Apply company project management procedures.
  • Evaluate our exposure to project risks.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored.

Commercial Management

  • Manage the project budget, project revenue, margins and profitability, including cost-to-completion projections.
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensuring and accurate invoicing, along with the monitoring of receivables for projects.
  • Review and negotiate project contracts/specifications/terms and conditions.
  • Identify potential variations to contracts and prepare and submit claims for variation orders.

Teamwork

  • Utilise each team member to your fullest potential.
  • Motivate the team to work together in the most efficient.
  • Keep track of lessons learnt and share those lessons with team members and the wider organisation.

You will have ultimate responsibility for the assigned project from the release by the Sales Department until final shipment and installation at the customer's site. This includes the following:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Customer Projects are engineered following the customer's requirements and committed ship date
  • Help organize and administer pre-production meetings with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
  • Administer Warranty and Goodwill
  • Conduct Coordination Meetings with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
  • Engage the project team to identify any risks and opportunities and the facilitate and
  • Resolve project-related customer concerns and answering product, quality and documentation related questions
  • Coordinate and attend Pre-Assembly and Final Inspection meetings with the customer at subcontractors/vendors and other Company sites
  • Report project status to the customer and the Manager of the Projects Department
  • Manage all aspects of project execution in Syteline

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

.Experience in both product design and project management that has been gained in the oil and gas industry in a manufacturing environment.

  • Task motivated with first class project management skills - inspired to achieve project schedules and budgets
  • Manage contracts from enquiry to close-out.
  • monitor contracts concerning quality, time and cost.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Project, & CAD systems.
  • A person with and an entrepreneurial/ commercially aware approach.
  • A will to succeed and to participate in the team at Pipeline Engineering with a view to successful, profitable growth.

Education & Experience

  • Certification in Project Management qualifications including PMI are useful but not essential.
  • Educated to degree or equivalent level in Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
