BUSINESS:   Refinery Valves

LOCATION: Channelview, TX

DIRECT REPORTING: Director, Product Management 

 

As the Product Manager you will report to the VP of Sales and Business Development. You will set and drive the product roadmap for the Refinery Valve product line by gathering customer input; tracking market trends; working with internal & external Sales/Rep teams to understand key market drivers and opportunities; and by working with Engineering to ensure product viability and on-time delivery. You will synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs to prioritize and manage the portfolio to ensure that the product and product line are valuable, profitable, usable, and feasible. You will have responsibility for the entire product life cycle from product conception, through development, market introduction, maturity, and sunset/EOL.



You Will:

  • Identify valve markets for cultivation.
  • Develop market model that includes market sizing, growth, competitive activity, customer, regulatory and technology factors to guide strategic discussions on target markets.
  • Develop technology and product roadmaps.
  • Manage product definition and development process, including:
  • Articulate clear and accurate market and product requirements
  • Develop strong and compelling business cases to support requirements
  • Establish winning strategies to engage third parties in delivering solutions that open market opportunities
  • Work with Engineering to ensure ideation and concept activities are focused on the most compelling business and technical problems in our target markets.
  • Ensure ongoing profitability of the entire product portfolio on a part-number level.
  • Support the revenue and margin forecasting process.
  • Support Quality improvements to the product portfolio. Bring market and customer perspective to the Quality team.
  • Manage delivery of new product development projects: on time/on spec.
  • Enumerate key product benefits, differentiation, and positioning. Clearly communicate these to regional marketing/sales teams, to rep network, and to end customers.
  • Understand market and customer requirements through VOC practices and sound competitive intelligence.
  • Identify and execute commercial/pricing strategies to ensure we are pursuing the most promising and valuable business opportunities.
  • Contribute to channel and sales strategies to ensure achievement of business growth objectives.

Job Requirements



You Have:

  • BA/BS required, preference for engineering/technical degree or strong demonstration of technical competency
  • 3 or more years of experience in B2B product management / product life cycle management / product marketing in a technical environment
  • Experience identifying market trends and technology shifts, and develop successful product plans and roadmaps
  • Product line management, including lifecycle management of products
  • Ability to travel 20-35% of time.
