POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The IT Architect is solutions-oriented position and serves a key role in determining strategic application roadmaps and executing company-wide initiatives to their successful completion. You will work as a member of the Global IT Architect and Collaboration team and closely with Regional IT Infrastructure Operations, IT Compliance and IT Business Solutions teams to drive efficiencies across the enterprise by reducing complex processes and repetitive tasks, minimizing security risks, standardizing applications and processes, and improving the performance and resiliency of critical business services.

The successful candidate for this role must provide outstanding customer service, possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, exhibit excellent business communication skills and a demonstrate a desire to tackle the complex problems.

Principal Activities

  •  Builds and supports the long-term strategic roadmap for all IT software and systems architecture which includes the development and ongoing maturity of software development, web, mobile and cloud technologies, data analytics and business intelligence
  • Aligns IT strategy and planning with CIRCOR’s business goals and objectives
  • Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
  • Leads the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Implement enterprise technology technologies and related services including Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure, Virtualization, Networking, Datacenters and Cloud services
  • Liaise with Business Solutions and IT Compliance teams to implement high performance, secure, and resilient technologies
  • Complete projects to budget, timelines, quality standards and communicate risks and progress to business stakeholders
  • Provide direct IT support as directed by IT Management
  • Design, document and diagram technology architecture
  • Train and mentor peers to administer implemented technologies effectively
  • Participate in IT compliance-related activities (SOX, ITAR, DFARS)
  • Champion efforts to standardize processes, technologies, and adopt IT best practices
  • Adhere to established IT policies and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with and direct the activities of 3rd party technical resources
  • Author and/or participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for key tasks
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to recommend the best solution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups including ability to share knowledge, resolve conflict and build consensus among many stakeholders
  • Seniorlevel experience deploying and managing enterprise technologies in at least two of the following categories:
    • Enterprise Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, DNS, Server OS, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint
    • Application Mapping and Integration: SAP, IFS, Microstrategy and/or associated middleware and web services
    • Cloud infrastructure: Office365, Azure, AWS, xAAS
    • Networking: Cisco Firewall, VPN, Routing, Switching, WAN/LAN redundancy, VOIP, WAN OP, Wireless
  • Successful work history with cross-functional groups to accomplish large IT projects
  • Superior systems troubleshooting skills
  • Passion for maintaining broad technical and solutions knowledge in software, infrastructure, security and architecture areas
  • Familiarity with Cyber Security Frameworks and Defense Concepts: SANS, NIST; Perimeter, Endpoint, Data, End-user protection
  • Advanced knowledge of OOD, design patterns, software architecture, systems integration concepts and frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with modern enterprise software development
  • Strong knowledge of networking, computing platform, storage, database, security, middleware, network and systems management, and related infrastructure technologies and practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Project, Team Foundation Server, Power Point, Excel, Windows Server, SharePoint, Visual Studio, SSRS/SSIS
  • Ability to comply with laws, regulations, or standards up to and including US Department of Defense standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 10-20% travel required, including internationally

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree in an applicable field and five years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
