JOB TITLE: CNC Machinist 

SALARY: £28,200

BUSINESS: Pipeline Engineering

LOCATION: Catterick, North Yorkshire


Main Duties

To produce and check machined components and to carry out fitting operations, assembly operations and functional tests.

This includes the following duties:

  • Program CNC machines both directly & via CAM software.
  • Set, produce and check machined components and products.
  • Run multiple machines and perform other general duties where safe & reasonably practicable.
  • Maximise machine utilisation and efficiency.
  • Perform other general duties where reasonably practicable.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and checks on equipment as instructed.
  • Carry out fitting and assembly operations
  • Carry functional tests for the Machined Products Business Unit.
  • Report on a daily basis work completed with accurate account of hours & order / job numbers.
  • Sign-off work as required, following the completion of pre-delivery quality checks.


In all of your duties you will:

  • Liaise with Business Unit Management Team to agree ongoing priorities.
  • Liaise with other departments in the Company in relation to assigned work.
  • Maximise output against cost.
  • Participate as required in internal and external quality audits, and third party inspections.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activity.
  • Ensure that H&S guidelines & procedures are followed in your work area by all employees and visitors.
  • Adhere to Company Quality Procedures, Standards & product specifications.
  • Keep good housekeeping standards in your work environment.
  • Assist in achieving departmental targets (as defined in Departmental Key Process Indicators).
  • Support the training of others.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and roles and responsibilities set out in the HSE Manuals

Job Requirements


  • Experience of operating metal removal machines.
  • Experience of fitting and assembly operations.
  • The ability to read & interpret engineering drawings.
  • Desire to become an integral part of the Pipeline Engineering Team.



  • Formal machining qualifications.
  • Experience of electrical fitting.
  • FLT licence
  • CNC programming & CAM experience.
