POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The Business Development position works collectively with other functional groups including Application Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, design engineering and customer service. Responsible for managing and directing international sales channel partners and local sales force to achieve sales goals and profit goals via share gains from competitors in the regions of APAC and China. Track the sales performance against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness and efficiency. Designs and recommends sales and marketing programs and set short- and long-terms sales strategies.

Principal Activities

  • Gathers the published external and internal data to measure and report the channel and market potential for all pump and pump related products, packages, projects, systems, and services for NA pumps business unit.
  • Aids in the development of proposals for new products or product extensions, customer presentations, working on focus groups and/or surveys to establish product potential, route to market analysis and associated market support data.
  • Supports market activities which include trade shows, training for potential customers, field sales.
  • Develop customers for increased portfolio sales by solution selling and value selling.
  • Establish a positive personal relationship with key buying influences at target accounts.
  • Reviews customer specifications, drawings, and contractual issues for proposal preparation.
  • Responsible for assisting management in the development of marketing information, or marketing programs to accomplish strategic objectives.
  • Delivers market sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing booking volume, potential, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Must be aware of international variances in cultural and legal awareness pertaining to sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of pumps products and competitor’s products, sales and marketing techniques and financial principles.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and make effective decision under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and “Can do” attitude.
  • Self-confidence and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be highly successful in a team environment working cooperatively among different departments to achieve business goals. 
  • Basic Microsoft experience such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required.  
  • Fluent English is required, both verbally and in Writing.  

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in sales role is required.
  • Minimum 3 years project management experience is required.
